Master Shi Yanqing
Master Shi Yanqing was born in Handan, China. He began practicing Chinese martial arts at the age of nine and because of his extraordinary intelligence, he was adored by his master.
After he came to the Shaolin Temple, he was elected to be a member of the Shaolin Kungfu Monk Corps, in which he became a devout disciple of a Shaolin monk.
He worshiped at the Shaolin Temple with the Abbot Shi Yongxing monk as a teacher, he learned the Chan Wu culture which specializes in the traditional Shaolin Kung Fu. Apart from Chan Wu, he also learned the practices of Yi(medicine).
On several occasions he won the title of Boxing Champion in the national tradition of Shaolin boxing contests. He also had outstanding achievements in the Macau performances. In 1999, he was selected in China to carry out cultural exchanges amongst the world. In 2003, as one of the Shaolin Kung Fu Monk Corps members, he visited Korea and the Philippines and various other countries. He won first place at the Korean International Kung Fu Tournament. He also toured with the Shaolin Temple Abbot Shi Yongxing to Australia, the United States, Italy, Thailand, Japan, Brazil, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria and many other countries for cultural exchange activities.
He was appointed by Abbot Shi Yongxing to come to United States to promote Shaolin Chan (meditation) Wu (kung fu) culture. He is very compassionate on promoting the Shaolin Chan Wu culture to help others gain more strength and balance.
